Daniel Maurer

 

studied in Paris with Jean Langlais (who dedicated to Maurer his „Noël n°3 avec variations”), whom he regularly accompanied on concert tours as assistant and co-performer in concerts for four hands and four feet.

Further studies with André Marchal include master classes with Marie-Claire Alain, Jean Guillou, Guy Bovet and Lionel Rogg.

In 1982, he was awarded First Prize with Honours unanimously from the Jury of the International Competition in Paris, as well as the First Prize of Organ from the National Conservatory of Paris.

Guest professor at international Master Classes (for interpretation as well as for improvisation) and renowned soloist performer in numerous European countries and Japan.

Titular organist of the historical J.A. Silbermann organ (1741), St. Thomas Church, Strasbourg.

Daniel Maurer is professor of organ and improvisation at the Conservatory and the Académie Supérieure de Musique of Strasbourg (Haute École des Arts du Rhin - HEAR)
